Living with urgency in The Last Days.

From the Director,

Pastor Mike Gomez,

What can I say the need for help is greater than ever.  Sadly many in our communities are suffering from either a loved one who is caught up in drugs or alcohol or some other type of bondage of addiction or may have already lost someone. Because of this, I think of what The Bible says about the last days.

2 Timothy 3:1–6 (NKJV) Perilous Times and Perilous Men

3 But know this, that in the last days, perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

Those who experience this daily really understand that we live in biblical times today!  But if this is true then what about the rest of the truth?  If it is truly the Last Days then that also means that Jesus will return for his bride soon!

The Apostle Paul writes to Titus:

Titus 2:11–13 (NKJV

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Our hope of restoration and freedom comes from having the right perspective. Our world today is living with an expectancy but it is a hopeless expectancy that has no real promise to be fulfilled.  Jesus’s promise to return and appear again in the last days is something to be excited about and there is no time to be wasted. We need to act and live with urgency in these last days and if God wills us to live many more years we will not have lost out on anything other than leaving our misery and old life behind!

As it says in Titus we should live “soberly and righteously” that is what we teach and do at U-Turn For Christ. It is not a program it is a lifestyle of Jesus’s Style. As we consider these truths of Christ’s near return and the days we are living in won’t you stop and consider something?  If living sober and righteously is God’s plan for our lives what’s keeping someone back from actually doing it?  When we realize we are powerless to change our own lives we can actually ask for help.  That is where we Turn to Christ.  If you are headed in the wrong direction It’s time to make a U-Turn For Christ.

It’s as easy as ABC

Admit you are a sinner in need of forgiveness.  1 John 1:9

Believe Jesus is God’s son sent to pay the price for our sins. John 3:16

Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10
